Magical Northern Lights
This ultimate voyage with Hurtigruten is described by Lonely Planet as `The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage´. We take you from Bergen to Kirkenes and back in 12 days. See 34 ports and cover over 2,500 nautical miles, which allows you to explore every inch of the coastal magic Norway has to offer. Any time of year, it’s a voyage like no other.
The drama of the scenery and the wildlife will stir the explorer in you. Twenty-two of the ports lie north of the Arctic Circle – and you are given the opportunity to join excursions tailor-made to match your exploration level. “First all thanks to Taariq for his excellent customer service, his professionalism packaged with patience and his ever-present friendly demeanour. MAGICAL NORTHERN LIGHTS
About the Ship
Hunting the Light
On a Hurtigruten voyage, we are constantly hunting the light. You’ll be sailing within the Auroral Oval which offers better and more chances of catching this mesmerising light show than land-based trips.
You’ll be best placed to see the Aurora Borealis in its full glory onboard Hurtigruten’s smaller, low lit ships along the sheltered Norwegian coast and, without the disruption of the artificial ambient light.
Enjoy unparalleled views of the Northern Lights from the comfort of the ship’s observation deck or inside the ship’s panoramic lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows. Hurtigruten’s onboard Northern Lights announcements will advise you as soon as there’s a sighting so there’s no chance you will be missing anything.
Choose A Dog Sledding Adventure
This excursion is your very own mini-polar expedition! Experience beautiful nature and views of the ocean and surrounding mountains at the energetic huskies pull you across the frozen landscape. Add this excursion for R4700 per person.
Northern Lights Promise
Form many people, seeing the Northern Lights is the main reason for the trip so choosing the holiday that offers the best chances of witnessing the drama of the dancing lights is all important. In fact, Hurtigruten is so sure that the Northern Lights will make an appearance on your 12 day sailing voyage that they have even prepared to pack that up with their unique Northern Lights Promise:
Free 6 Or 7-Day
Classic Voyage if the lights don’t occur on the 12-day journey between October and March.
